Junior Chamber International (JCI) Philippines has officially named world-renowned boxing icon and former Philippine Senator Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao as the Global Ambassador for the 2026 JCI World Congress.
Scheduled for Nov. 11 to 15, 2026, in Clark, Pampanga, this prestigious global summit will bring together thousands of young leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers from over 100 countries.
In an official statement, Pacquiao reflected on his appointment and emphasized the pride of hosting a major international event on home soil. The JCI World Congress is expected to drive national tourism and empower the next generation of global leaders.
Reflecting on his transition from representing the nation in the ring to serving as World Congress Ambassador, Pacquiao expressed deep pride in welcoming the world to the Philippines.
"First of all, to God be the glory. Every time I stepped into the boxing ring, I was carrying the entire country on my shoulders. But stepping into the role of World Congress Ambassador here on home soil is special in a different way. It is not about fighting in a ring; it is about welcoming the world into our home. Showing international delegates that the heart of the Filipino is welcoming, humble, and ready to lead globally is a deeply proud moment for me," he said.
The JCI World Congress is the flagship annual gathering of Junior Chamber International, bringing together thousands of young active citizens, entrepreneurs, and leaders to exchange ideas, build global networks, and drive sustainable impact in their local communities.
A message of bayanihan and leadership
When delegate leaders gather in Clark this November, Pacquiao wants them to take home a powerful message rooted in the Filipino spirit of resilience and service
"I want them to learn our spirit of bayanihan and our refusal to quit. No matter how hard the trial or how many times life knocks us down, Filipinos always stand back up stronger. True leadership isn't about power or position—it is about service, discipline, and lifting others up when they need it most."
Highlighting the economic and cultural impact of hosting over 100 nations, Pacquiao noted that legendary Filipino hospitality will serve as a lasting bridge for global investment and tourism.
"When delegates experience how warmly they are treated here, they don't just leave as visitors; they leave as ambassadors for the Philippines. Hosting over 100 countries creates a massive ripple effect. It shows global investors and tourists that the Philippines is safe, beautiful, vibrant, and open for business," said boxing's only eight-division champion.
Inspiring the next generation of changemakers
Drawing from his own extraordinary journey from grassroots hardship to boxing legend, Pacquiao offered a direct message of hope to young global delegates.
"My message to them is simple: Never let your past or your current poverty define your future. I started with nothing—sleeping on cardboard, lacking food, and fighting just to survive. But through faith in God, hard work, and relentless discipline, nothing is impossible. If a poor boy from Sarangani can become an eight-division world champion, you too can achieve your dreams and transform your communities," he said.
As the countdown to the event begins, the former senator issued the following open invitation to both local participants and international guests:
"To all our foreign delegates from across the globe, welcome to the Philippines! We are opening our doors and our hearts to you. And to my fellow Filipinos, let us unite to show the world the absolute best of our country. See you all in Clark this Nov. 11 to 15! Mabuhay, and God bless us all!"
