CAMP DANGWA,Benguet -- The Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) successfully conducted a weeklong series of anti-illegal drug operations from August 17 to 23, resulting in the seizure of more than P50.3M worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of four drug personalities.
Reports said, a total of nine anti-illegal drug operations were conducted consisting of five marijuana eradication operations and four buy-bust operations.
Through these operations, operatives uprooted 191,250 fully grown marijuana plants, 100,049.74 grams of marijuana leaves with fruiting tops, 2,000 marijuana seedlings and confiscated 0.98 grams of shabu, with a total Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P50,342,632.80.
All four individuals arrested during the operations were listed as Street-Level Individuals (SLIs).
The most significant operations took place in Kalinga, where the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) eradicated marijuana plants with an SDP of P50,200,000.00.
This was followed by operations in Benguet, where the Benguet PPO confiscated illegal drugs worth P135,968.80 and arrested one SLI, and in Baguio City where operatives of the Baguio City Police Office seized illegal drugs worth P6,664.00 and apprehended three SLIs.
These operations reflect PRO CAR’s continuing efforts to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs in the Cordillera through sustained police operations, intensified intelligence gathering, and strengthened coordination with partner agencies and communities.
