We will never allow any form of gambling, betting, riots, or brawls in Valenzuela. Our city should remain peaceful, orderly, and safe for every Valenzuelano family),” Gatchalian said.
The Valenzuela City Police Station (VCPS) said the incident happened at Sitio Kabatuhan on Aug. 16 during the area’s feast celebration.
Police said a disagreement during a boxing match later turned into a physical confrontation involving several people.
Barangay personnel and other people at the scene eventually stopped the commotion.
The VCPS launched an investigation with Sub-Station 2 and barangay authorities.
Police said a formal complaint was filed before the barangay, while documents are being prepared for the possible filing of criminal complaints.
On Aug. 17, Gatchalian led a dialogue with authorities and community representatives at Antonio M. Serapio Elementary School.
Barangay Gen. T. De Leon officials and Valenzuela police personnel led by VCPS chief Col. Joseph Talento attended the meeting.
(To those planning to cause trouble, do not even try. We will not hesitate to arrest you. Not here in Valenzuela!),” Gatchalian said.
The VCPS also urged the public not to spread unverified information or make conclusions while the investigation is ongoing.
