SM Investments Corp. (SMIC), the country's largest conglomerate by market value, and its shopping mall unit secured 12 Stevie Awards at the 2026 International Business Awards.
The parent company captured four awards, highlighted by Gold Stevies in the Conglomerates (Large) and Best Annual Report (Publicly Held Corporations) categories for its 2025 Integrated Report.
SMIC’s 2025 Sustainability Report received a Bronze award for Best Sustainability Report, while the SM Sustainability School earned a Bronze under the Sustainability Initiative of the Year category in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
Frederic C. DyBuncio, SMIC president and chief executive officer, noted that transparent reporting gives investors and broader stakeholders a clearer line of sight into how the conglomerate makes decisions, manages core operations, and plans for long-term growth.
He added that the accolades reflect how that same sense of corporate responsibility is carried through by individual business units across the communities they serve.
SM Supermalls accounted for the remaining eight awards across various operational and marketing endeavors.
Steven T. Tan, SM Supermalls president, stated that public perception of a shopping destination is shaped directly by real customer experiences rather than corporate promotion, pointing to dedicated reading spaces, community art exhibitions, and accessibility initiatives as practical differentiators.
In consumer engagement, the Philippine International Pyromusical Competition earned a Gold Stevie for Brand Experience of the Year (Consumer), while the “Find Your SM” campaign took Silver in the same category.
On the sustainability and corporate responsibility front, the SM Green Movement won Silver for Achievement in Corporate Social Responsibility, SM Cares Coastal Cleanup secured Silver for Achievement in Environment, and SM Cares: A Mall for All picked up Silver for Achievement in Diversity and Inclusion.
Additionally, the SM Cares Book Nook program received a Bronze award for Most Innovative Creative Project for creating dedicated reading and book-sharing spaces inside properties.
The Empowering Communities campaign was recognized under Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, while SM Mindanao Art won Bronze in Community Engagement Event for providing regional artists with broader commercial exposure.
Winners were selected based on average scores evaluated by over 300 business professionals across two months of judging. Now in their 23rd year, the International Business Awards honor organizational performance globally.
