A new Filipina singer is making waves on the global stage.

Sanico performed Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me” during her Blind Audition, impressing coaches Melanie C, Ronan Keating, Richard Marx, and Kate Miller Heidke.

In a Facebook post, Sanico shared that the appearance marked her first televised singing competition in a decade. Since moving to Australia, she said she mostly sang at church, at home, and in front of her children.

“I really feel like I’m starting from ground zero,” she said.

Despite her nerves, Sanico said she poured her heart into the performance, describing her appearance on "The Voice" as a surreal moment after growing up living a humble life in the Philippines.

“Who would have thought that a little girl born with a big dream will be able to step in 'The Voice' stage,” she said.

Her performance also carried a personal significance as she dedicated it to her family, particularly her father, who traveled from the Philippines to Australia to watch her compete.

Kate praised Sanico’s vocal ability, calling her belt “extraordinarily” high and her voice “crystalline.”

“What an amazing performance! It really brought tears to my eyes. There is so much love and emotion,” Melanie C said.

Ronan added, “You smashed it. There were some moments of pure brilliance.”

With all four coaches turning their chairs, Sanico ultimately chose Richard Marx as her coach.

“I think you’re going to win this thing,” Marx told her.

Sanico previously competed in "It’s Showtime’s" "Tawag ng Tanghalan" Season 1 as the “Student Belter ng Mindanao.” She became the first semifinalist for the competition’s final quarter but withdrew during the semifinals due to personal commitments.

She has since moved to Adelaide, South Australia and has built a family life with her Australian husband and their two children.
