PROCAR seizes P68-M illegal drugs; 6 arrested in series of operations
CAMP DANGWA, Benguet -- The Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) conducted a series of anti-illegal drug operations resulting in the arrest of six individuals and the seizure of approximately P68 million worth of illegal drugs, on August 14-15.
In Kalinga, joint operatives of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-CAR (PDEA-CAR) conducted separate marijuana eradication operations in Tinglayan, resulting in the destruction of 330,000 fully grown plants with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P66,000,000.00 in Barangays Loccong and Tulgao West.
Meanwhile, a joint operation along the boundary of Sadanga, Mountain Province, and Tinglayan, Kalinga, led to the eradication of 50,000 marijuana seedlings with an SDP of P2,000,000.00.
In separate anti-illegal drug operations in Baguio City and Tabuk City, Kalinga, six individuals were arrested for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In Baguio City, joint operatives of the Baguio City Police Office, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-CAR, and PDEA-CAR arrested two males, aged 37, identified as High Value Individual; and aged 33, identified as Street Level Individual (SLI), after they sold seven sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of more or less 6.3 grams and an SDP of P42,840.00 to poseur-buyers in Barangays Santo Rosario Valley and T. Alonzo.
In Tabuk City, two females aged 23 and 24, and two males aged 21 and 26, all identified as SLIs, were arrested following a report of suspected illegal drug activity in Barangay Dagupan West.
