A wave of nostalgia and feel-good vibes filled the Smart Araneta Coliseum recently as tribute band TOAST serenaded fans with some of Bread’s most beloved hits.

Adding to the evening’s celebration was Filipino singer-songwriter Noel Cabangon, who joined TOAST as special guest.

At the concert, Jeff Clark, the band’s lead vocalist, shared his ecitement performing in Manila, even taking a moment to congratulate Filipino tennis ace Alex Eala.

“We are very excited to be here, and thanks for the warm welcome, and also to celebrate Alex Eala—congratulations. That was superb,” he said.

To get the night going, the band opened with “Sweet Surrender” from Bread’s 1972 album "Guitar Man."

Despite the rainy weather, TOAST was like a warm hug, blanketing us in sweet serenity performing “If,” “Baby I’m-A Want You,” and “Goodbye Girl," perfectly, like we are listening to the actual records.

Jeff then shared with the audience a little fun fact about how Bread got their name seeing a bread truck.

"Fate had it that they saw a bread truck. They thought, ‘Yes, The Grateful Bread.’ No, no, no.

‘Bred Zeppelin?’ No. No, no, no, no.

‘Let’s just call it Bread."

The concert went on with TOAST playing more fan-favorites like "Aubrey", "Lost Without Your Love", "Diary", "It Don't Matter To Me", and "Guitar Man."

Of course, they didn't leave the stage without playing "Make It With You" and "Everything I Own."

In all, it was a superb night of great music, and we definitely wouldn’t hesitate to catch TOAST in concert again.
