Titan Ultra to review Munzon deal with TNT after horrible Sajonia injury

It's still unclear how the trade would pan out or whether it will push through but it is not a secret that Titan Ultra has its eyes on another Tropang 5G player in Jordan Heading while TNT has long expressed its interest in Munzon.

Titan Ultra is expected to review its supposed trade deal with TNT involving star forward Joshua Munzon following the knee injury to promising rookie guard Bryan Sajonia.

According to multiple reports on Wednesday, Aug. 12, the Giant Risers have already agreed to send Munzon to the Tropang 5G in exchange for rookie big man Joe Celzo and first round pick in the PBA Season 53 draft and the deal is already awaiting approval from the league.

Munzon even already skipped the team’s 143-113 loss to San Miguel on the same day.

Changes, however, are expected to be made in the deal after Sajonia sustained a knee injury in the third quarter against the Beermen.

Sajonia was confirmed to have suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), MCL (medial collateral ligament) and PCL (posterior cruciate ligament) tears on his left knee. He is expected to be out for the rest of the season.

Aside from Sajonia, Titan Ultra is already without Mark Omega following a bad fall in their game against Macau.

The recent setbacks for the Giant Risers have prompted the franchise to pull the plug on the Munzon deal, at least, for now.

It’s still unclear how the trade would pan out or whether it will push through but it is not a secret that Titan Ultra has its eyes on another Tropang 5G player in Jordan Heading while TNT has long expressed its interest in Munzon.

In their initial talks, however, Rey Nambatac was offered for Munzon, to which the Giant Risers reportedly turned down and asked to add Henry Galinato to the package. TNT then thumbed down the deal.
