Lastimosa fires career-high as Magnolia downs Phoenix

The Hotshots limited the Fuel Masters to just two points through the first six minutes of the fourth quarter just as Lastimosa caught fire with eight straight points to fuel a 16-2 run to put the game away.

Lastimosa fired a career-high 30 points while Barroca fired a conference-high 21 points to go with six rebounds and four assists.

Import KJ Buffen also had his best game in the PBA with 35 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks as the Hotshots improved to a 4-3 record, catching the Fuel Masters in a share of the second spot in Group B.

Magnolia found itself trailing by two early in the final frame, 84-86, after squandering a 15-point lead in the third quarter but Lastimosa came alive and scored eight straight points to turn things around.

That sparked the telling run with Buffen and Barroca joining in the scoring barrage to establish the much-needed separation, 98-86. midway through the fourth.

Ian Sangalang chipped in 10 points and six rebounds while Zavier Lucero had nine points and 10 rebounds.

BJ Johnson III fired 37 points in a losing effort for Phoenix while Ricci Rivero chipped in 16 points, six rebounds and five steals.
