Pangasinan mourns death of former vice governor Oscar Lambino

MALASIQUI, Pangasinan — Former Pangasinan vice governor Oscar B. Lambino has passed away, drawing messages of grief and remembrance from friends, colleagues and members of the community.

Current Pangasinan Vice Governor Mark Ronald Lambino confirmed his uncle’s passing in a Facebook post, recalling his public service as vice governor of Pangasinan from 1998 to 2007 and as mayor of Malasiqui.

“We mourn the passing of Former Vice Governor Oscar B. Lambino,” Mark Ronald Lambino said, while extending his “sincerest sympathies and condolences” to the former vice governor’s family and loved ones.

“Paalam, Uncle OBL,” he added.

Former Lingayen mayor Leopoldo N. Bataoil also expressed his condolences, remembering Lambino for his kindness, humility and dedication to serving others.

Members of the Caritas Lingayen-Dagupan family likewise paid tribute to the former vice governor, recalling his warmth and generosity, including his support and companionship during meetings and activities in Dagupan City.

“Eternal rest grant unto Former Vice Governor Oscar Lambino, O Lord,” the group said in a Facebook post, adding that Lambino will always have a special place in their hearts.

Lambino’s years in public service, as well as his personal kindness and generosity, are being remembered by those who had the opportunity to work with and know him.
