House cancels Monday plenary session due to heavy rains

The House of Representatives has cancelled its scheduled plenary session on Monday, Aug. 10 due to heavy rainfall and flooding.
This, as House personnel were placed on a work-from-home (WFH) arrangement
“In view of the heavy rainfall and flooding brought about by the Southwest Monsoon, a work-from-home (WFH) arrangement shall be implemented in the House of Representatives today, 10 August 2026,” read an advisory on Monday morning from House Secretary General Cheloy Garafil.
The WFH arrangement is intended to ensure the safety of House workers amid flooding and hazardous travel conditions caused by the continued rains.
The inclement weather and flooding affected Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon.
The 300-strong House of Representatives carries out plenary sessions from Monday to Wednesday.
