‎Sexagenarian laborer killed in landslide

‎SANTA TERESITA, Batangas -- A 69-year-old construction worker was killed in a landslide that buried their barracks in Barangay Calumala here on Saturday night, Aug. 8.
‎Police identified the victim as Teodoro Latumbo of Barangay Calumala.
‎Investigation said the victim and his co-workers were resting inside their barracks as heavy rains pounded the area.
‎They heard  loud noise, immediately rushed outside, and saw a landslide descending towards their location.
‎They  fled but the victim accidentally fell into a four-meter high riprap.

The victim was buried by the landslide and was retrieved by his companions.
‎However, transportation to the hospital was delayed due to flood along the way.
‎The duty barangay official took the victim to the Taal Polymedic Hospital and Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
