Home ransacked, QC robbery suspect nabbed hours later

A 29-year-old man was arrested just hours after a Quezon City homeowner returned to find her house ransacked and several valuables missing on Thursday, Aug. 6.
The victim had gone home at around 3:53 p.m. to get belongings for her child who was confined in a hospital when she discovered that the screen beside the kitchen had been cut open and the wardrobes on the second floor had been ransacked.
Missing from the house were two Samsung T95 tablets worth P15,980, a Kooxu cordless impact wrench worth P800, and P5,000 kept in a savings box.
After reviewing CCTV footage, the victim positively identified the man, alias "Boyet," 29, of Barangay Fairview, and sought assistance from the Fairview Police Station (PS 5).
Acting on the information, police launched a follow-up operation and arrested him at his residence at around 7:30 p.m.
Recovered from him were the two Samsung tablets and the Kooxu cordless impact wrench.
Police said he has previous records for murder in January 2020, physical injuries and alarms and scandals in May 2021, violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 in February 2024, and theft in March 2025.
He is facing a robbery complaint before the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office.
