20 Bulacan LGUs suspend face-to-face classes due to Habagat, Typhoon Luis

Twenty local government units (LGUs) in Bulacan suspended face-to-face classes at all levels in both public and private schools on Monday, August 3, as heavy rains from the southwest monsoon (Habagat) intensified by Typhoon Luis continued to affect the province.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando said the first LGUs to declare suspension were the City of Malolos, Guiguinto, Hagonoy, Obando, City of San Jose del Monte, Calumpit, Paombong, and Santa Maria.

Other municipalities shifting to Alternative Learning Modalities (ALM) include Angat, Bulakan, Pandi, San Ildefonso, Balagtas, Pulilan, San Miguel, Marilao, Bocaue, Plaridel, Norzagaray, and the City of Meycauayan.

The provincial government and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) reminded residents to remain vigilant during the rainy season.

Parents, teachers, and barangay officials were urged to coordinate closely to safeguard students, monitor flooded areas, and provide immediate assistance and information during inclement weather.
