QC updates 8 routes for 'Libreng Sakay' free bus program

The Quezon City Government posts details of the eight routes under its “Libreng Sakay” bus program, highlighting expanded coverage and daily operations to ease transport costs for residents.

Commuters can expect more accessible and cost-free travel as the Quezon City Government strengthened its Q City Bus Service, rolling out updated routes, improved schedules, and upgraded units to better serve thousands of daily passengers.

The city government on July 30 said the libreng sakay program remains a key response to rising transportation costs, while also supporting efforts to decongest roads and reduce carbon emissions.

City officials said the buses are still WiFi-enabled and include electric units, aligning with efforts to modernize public transport while reducing emissions.

The buses operate daily, with shorter headways during rush hours, particularly along high-demand routes such as QC Hall–Cubao and QC Hall–Litex.

Authorities encouraged commuters to make the most of the free rides, noting that the program not only reduces costs but also helps ease congestion by shifting more people to public transport.
