Fire breaks out in House, reaches 1st alarm

A fire that reached the first alarm struck the House of Representatives in Batasan, Quezon City on Sunday morning, Aug. 2.
Jake Santiago of the House Press and Public Affair Bureau (PPAB) confirmed the incident to House reporters at around 10:30 a.m.
By thar time, "fire out" had already been declared by the responding firefighters.
Official House reports later stated that the fire began at the workers' barracks behind the south steel parking area at around 9:30 a.m. It was discovered by Robert Bunao, a warehouseman.
A total of four fire trucks responded to the scene. The flames were snuffed out at 9:53 a.m.
The affected area is separate from the bigger buildings within the complex that holds congressmen's offices as well as the plenary hall.
No one was reported injured.
