Man wanted for murder, carnapping killed in Laguna

SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna – A man with warrants of arrest for murder, carnapping, and robbery was killed in a gunfight with police in Purok 1, Barangay Magsaysay, this city, on Friday night, July 31.
Police identified the suspect as Roger, a regional most wanted person of the Police Regional Office 4-A.
Investigation said the suspect escaped and fired at approaching lawmen out to serve warrants. Police returned fire and killed the suspect who was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
No lawmen were injured during the incident.
Meanwhile, police arrested a suspected hitman on Saturday morning in Purok 4, Barangay San Lucas, San Pablo City, Laguna.
The Police Regional Office 4-A identified the suspect as Bobby Bagasala, a member of the Paz gun-for-hire group and listed as No. 2 most wanted person on the regional level.
Bagasala was arrested on a warrant for murder issued by a Siniloan, Laguna court dated March 27, 2025, with no bail recommended.
His group is involved in gun-for-hire activities in the third and fourth districts of Laguna as well as in Quezon province, particularly the municipalities of Tiaong, Candelaria, San Antonio, and Sariaya.
Recovered from him were a caliber .45 Colt pistol, two magazines, and 16 bullets.
He is in the custody of the San Pablo City police for proper disposition.
