CEBU CITY – A reconciliation effort turned deadly when a student repeatedly stabbed her ex-girlfriend in Barangay Poblacion, Sibonga town, Cebu on Saturday morning, Aug. 1.
Risa, a 21-year-old college student, succumbed to multiple stab wounds in the body. The suspect, John, was also wounded after stabbing himself.
Police said the victim and the suspect broke up last month, ending a four-year relationship.
The suspect visited her ex to win her back. The victim was with her sister when the suspect arrived.
They were talking in a room when the sister stepped out. Police said the suspect locked the room and he begged the victim to accept him back but she was determined to end the relationship.
Irked that he got rejected, the suspect drew a kitchen knife and attacked the victim before stabbing himself in the neck and chest.
It took time before responding policemen were able to open the door. The woman was already dead while the suspect was bleeding profusely when police were finally able to enter the room.
