'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' earns P96 million on PH opening day - report

"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" broke box office records in the Philippines, earning nearly P96 million on its opening day, according to its local distributor.
Columbia Pictures claimed that the latest installment of the well-beloved Marvel film has grossed P95,930,965 on its first day here, making it Sony Pictures' biggest opening day in the country and the largest post-pandemic opening-day haul at the local box office.
It is the third-biggest opening day for a Hollywood film here behind "Avengers: Endgame" and "Avengers: Infinity War."
In the film, British actor Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker, where he begins a new chapter as Spider-Man, protecting the city in a world where no one remembers who he is.
