18-year-old nabbed for cyber photo voyeurism in Muntinlupa

Operatives of the Southern Police District (SPD) nabbed an 18-year-old student wanted for cyber photo and video voyeurism in Muntinlupa City on Wednesday, July 29.
The suspect, identified only as alias Jahnel, a resident of Barangay Bayanan, was arrested by elements of the SPD’s District Mobile Force Battalion and District Special Operations Unit.
A warrant of arrest with a recommended bail of ₱42,000 was issued on July 28 by the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 203 for violation of Section 4(D) of Republic Act 9995 (Anti Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009), in relation to Section 6 of Republic Act 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).
Section 4(D) of RA 9995 prohibits publishing or broadcasting photo or video recordings of sexual acts or similar activities through media, internet, or electronic devices.
Section 6 of RA 10175 imposes a higher penalty when the crime is committed using information and communications technology.
The suspect is detained at the Muntinlupa police station.
SPD district director Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco said the district remains committed to enforcing warrants against digital and cyber-based offenses.
