Hong Kong continues to be one of the top tourist destinations in Asia. Just last year, it managed to bring in over 50 million visitors. Filipinos made up 1.3 million of those visits.
This year, it seems Hong Kong is seeing a further increase in tourism numbers by up to 14 percent. These numbers might end up even higher with the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s (HKTB) latest campaign titled “Only in Hong Kong.”
This new campaign was recently shown to Philippine stakeholders earlier this month by HKTB regional director for Southeast Asia Liew Chian Jia.

“The Philippines continues to be one of the top Southeast Asian markets, and we are incredibly grateful for the continued support Hong Kong receives from Filipino tourists,” shares Liew. “As the tourism landscape evolves, with visitors having more options than ever before, we want to give Filipino travelers even more compelling reasons to keep coming back. Our answer is ‘Only in Hong Kong,’ a campaign that uplifts the image of Hong Kong as a welcoming, dynamic world city. We want to create powerful moments that stay with you long after the trip is over so that even when you leave Hong Kong, Hong Kong will never leave you.”

It’s a travel campaign that reminds us of the beauty of Hong Kong’s urban landscape. From the iconic ferry rides along Victoria Harbor, the tall buildings that fill the city with life, and even the quiet neon-lit nights along its streets.

From the campaign logo itself, it channels the inviting neon street signs prevalent throughout Hong Kong that give it the “Blade Runner” aesthetic everyone loves. Colors used in the variations of its logo are also handpicked to channel local elements of Hong Kong.
Four of which include Dukling Red, to symbolize Hong Kong’s boats; Ding Ding Green, noting the resilience of 120 years of transport heritage; Skyline Blue, for Victoria Harbor’s iconic aerial hue; and Panda Black and White, to signify the joy of Hong Kong’s beloved panda twins.
