Jollibee expands US footprint as store sales outpace industry rivals

Jollibee Foods Corp. is leveraging high-yielding store economics to drive its newly launched North American franchising program, backing an aggressive United States (US) expansion strategy led by strong sales volume across its overseas portfolio.
In a statement, Jollibee said average unit volume for the Philippine-based fast-food operator’s US locations reached $4.5 million, roughly two-and-a-half times the performance of many competing brands in the American chicken quick-service restaurant category.
The robust store-level metrics have helped Jollibee secure multi-unit franchise development commitments across several key American markets, including Nevada, New York, Texas, and Washington.
The franchising push comes as Jollibee prepares to open its newest location in downtown San Francisco on July 31, marking its 14th venue in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Situated at 934 Market Street near the Powell Street transit hub, the new site reinforces California’s role as a primary gateway for the brand’s North American presence—a market entry that began in nearby Daly City in 1998. Additional California locations are planned for Oxnard and Elk Grove in the coming months.
Jollibee is using the physical expansion to widen its consumer reach beyond its historic diaspora customer base, capitalizing on broader brand visibility. The brand was recognized as the top fast-food fried chicken in America by USA Today for a third consecutive year, and its parent firm earned inclusion on Time magazine’s 2026 lists of top food and drink industry leaders and 100 most influential companies.
To bolster market identity in northern California, the company has also formed a promotional partnership with the Golden State Warriors basketball franchise for in-arena activations during the 2026–2027 season.
The downtown San Francisco venue will operate daily from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., offering dine-in, takeout, online ordering, and catering. Menu offerings center on signature items including Chickenjoy fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, peach mango pies, and pineapple quencher drinks.
The company will run a three-day promotional giveaway starting July 31, offering early in-store patrons branded merchandise and food vouchers as part of the opening launch.
