Batangas bizman saved by bulletproof vest

A bulletproof vest saved the life of a 56-year-old businessman who was shot and wounded in an ambush in Sitio Balete, Purok 1, Barangay San Isidro, Lipa City, Batangas, on Sunday morning, July 26.
Police identified the victim as Teodolo.
Investigation said Teodolo was driving his truck when two unidentified men on a black scooter appeared and shot him.
The victim jumped off his truck which crashed into a tree. He fled towards his house and was taken to a hospital.
The suspects took the victim’s sling bag containing his cellphone and wallet before fleeing to an unknown direction.
He sustained bullet wounds in his left arm and abdomen and he survived due to the bulletproof vest he was wearing due to an alleged threat against his life allegedly his brother over a land dispute.
Manhunt and follow-up operations are ongoing.
