Government to provide fire trucks for LGUs—Marcos

After distributing patient transport vehicles (PTV) across the country, fire trucks will also be provided to local government units (LGUs), President Marcos announced.
Funding for the program is already available, with procurement now underway, the President said during the distribution of emergency vehicles in San Fernando, Pampanga on Friday, July 24.
According to him, the distribution of fire trucks will follow the same implementation model used for the nationwide PTV program.
“Inantay lang natin ang pagdating, nabili na ito, na order na itong mga firetruck na ito, inantay na lang natin ang pagdating nila bago natin ididistribute (We were just waiting for them to arrive. They have already been purchased, these fire trucks have already been ordered. We were simply waiting for their arrival before distributing them)," the President said.
"So, we have completed the patient transport vehicle, we are beginning now on the fire trucks,” the President added.
The initiative, Marcos said, aims to ensure that all LGUs are equipped with fire trucks, noting that many municipalities either lack the equipment or use outdated units.
It will be implemented by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Marcos said the government will determine the appropriate distribution of fire trucks among provinces, cities, and municipalities to ensure every LGU receives one.
The Chief Executive further said that the initiative will improve public services by strengthening emergency response capabilities, particularly during fire incidents.
On Friday, Marcos announced that the government has completed its distribution of patient transport vehicles to all 82 provinces across the country.
