Terrafirma head coach Ronald Tubid believes that the close losses in the last three games and the big win over TNT just proved that the team can hold its own against the best of the league if it wants it. 

The Dyip lost to NLEX, 100-101, to Converge, 103-105, and then to San Miguel, 104-109. Terrafirma finally got over the hump, but still had to go through the wringer to pull off a 111-106 win over the Tropang 5G.

“Siguro kulang lang yung effort nung last three losses namin kasi. Sabi ko nga hinihuntay pa ng team na matambakan bago maghabol pero iyon nga everyday in practice sinasabi namin na kaya naman natin,” said Tubid after the game. 

“As long as we always play our A game. It just so happened na same thing, almost na naman kami ngayon so iyon kailangan lang malaman ng players na kaya naman if we keep on competing,” he added. 

The Dyip seemed to have finally learned their lesson on the fourth time as, after trailing 98-104 in overtime, the team showed poise and came through with four straight triples to seize control. 

The overtime, however, came after Terrafirma squandered a huge 18-point lead early on. The team actually had the lead, 94-92, and the possession with 13 seconds left but TNT forced a ball hogging violation on import Justin Strings. 

“Well, learning experience yon para sa mga players even sa coaches. We have to play our A-game every time. Hindi pwede mag relax e,” noted Tubid. 

“All the teams are pretty strong so kailangan mag-start sa sarili namin, from the start ng game hanggang sa matapos, yung pace namin at yung establish ng concept namin sa depensa at opensa,” he ended.
