ZAMBOANGA CITY - The Police Regional Office–Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) has designated Police Lt. Col. Janz Vladimir G. Hilarion as the new officer-in-charge (OIC) chief of police of Lamitan City, Basilan effective Monday, July 13.
Hilarion, of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class of 2011, steps into the role following his previous tour of duty in Maguindanao del Sur.
He succeeded Police Lt. Col. Elmer P. Solon, whose exit marked the end of a high-performing tenure defined by historic security milestones, enhanced public safety, and a relentless crackdown against the illegal drug trade.
"The transition reflects the PNP's commitment to professional, responsive, and effective police service while sustaining peace, order, and public trust in Lamitan City," the PNP said in a statement.
Hilarion is expected to prioritize localized community policing, heightened police visibility, and intelligence-driven anti-criminality campaigns to ensure Lamitan remains one of the region’s safest economic hubs.
