Sofia Pablo addresses Allen Ansay's decision to stop courting her

After Allen Ansay publicly revealed that he stopped courting screen partner Sofia Pablo months ago, the actress has now shared her side of the story.

Speaking in an interview aired on "24 Oras" recently, Sofia confirmed that Allen had indeed ended his courtship, saying they both decided it was best to focus on their careers while they are still young.

Note that Allen, 22, and Sofia, 20, have become one of GMA Network's most followed young love teams, with fans closely invested in their off-screen relationship.

Explaining why they decided not to pursue a romance for now, Sofia said:

"Mahirap po talagang ibalanse yung career and love life. E, siyempre pareho po kami na bata pa and marami kaming dreams for our family. Maybe it's not the right time to continue talaga na pursue namin yung isa't isa at the moment."

Sofia said she was grateful that Allen chose to be the one to publicly explain what happened after fans started noticing changes in their interactions.

She admitted that they initially had no plans to discuss the status of Allen's courtship because they considered it a private matter.

"Kasi yung naisip po namin is di na namin nga sasabihin sa public kung ano man yung status ng ligawan, kasi it's personal naman namin. But we understand the fans na siyempre magtataka sila kung bakit di na kami ang nagkakasama."

Her remarks came a day after Allen revealed that he had stopped courting Sofia as early as March, saying their priorities had shifted toward work. He also denied that a third party was involved and urged fans not to spread false narratives about the actress.

Speculation surfaced after some fans noticed Sofia appearing in posts with fellow "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0" housemate Iñigo Jose.

Addressing the issue, Sofia dismissed suggestions that another person played a role in Allen's decision.

"Kasi siyempre may mga fan gatherings kami, and even naman inside the [PBB] house, naging close naman po talaga kami. I don't think na dapat isipin talaga ng tao na there's someone involved kung bakit tumigil si Allen. Kasi, clear po talaga sabi ni Allen na tumigil kami because we want to focus on our respective careers."
