BACOLOD CITY – The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) urged people on Friday for information on the suspected ‘’salvage’’ or summary execution victim in Purok Langka, Barangay Pacol, Bago City, Negros Occidental on Thursday, July 2.
Police identified the victim as Mickey, a resident of Barangay 16, this city.
The body of the 26-year-old male victim was wrapped in plastic and packaging tape and dumped in a sugarcane field.
His siblings and former live-in partner identified him through his distinctive tattoos and clothes.
The victim was last seen alive on June 27 at the public plaza here with unidentified individuals.
He has not been seen since until his decomposing body was found by sugarcane workers on Thursday morning.
The victim faced cases for illegal gambling in 2018 and 2024 and was allegedly involved in property crime.
PRO-NIR chief Police Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño, PRO-NIR chief, said they are conducting follow-up investigation and reminded the public to refrain from spreading unverified information or speculations.
“We assure the public that this case is being treated with utmost urgency,” he added.
