CEBU CITY – A three-year-old boy was killed in a fire that destroyed his house on Wednesday morning, June 17, in Argao, southern Cebu.
Police said that investigation conducted by Fire Officer 3 Michael Angelo Rodriguez showed that the victim was playing with a lighter before the fire started.
Police said the flames spread rapidly and the boy was trapped inside the bungalow-type house in Barangay Upper Cansuje.
Neighbors tried to put out the fire to no avail. Responding firefighters contained the fire at 9:45 a.m. Fire out was declared at 10 a.m.
The boy’s charred remains were found in the debris during mopping-up operations. Property damage was pegged at P10,000.
