Pokémon Asia 30th anniversary celebration heads to Manila in 2027

The Pokémon Company unveils a series of events across Asia, with Manila joining Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Singapore, and Bangkok for the PokéXciting! festivities

Nearly three decades after Pokémon first captured the imagination of players around the world, the franchise is preparing its biggest anniversary celebration in Asia, with Manila among five cities selected to host special events.
The Pokémon Company announced that its 30th anniversary festivities will include a range of activities across the region, from Pokémon Run and Pokémon GO events to trading card game activities and shopping mall campaigns. One of the centerpieces will be PokéXciting!, a large-scale fan experience that will make stops in Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Singapore, Manila, and Bangkok.
Manila is scheduled to host the celebration on Jan. 23 and 24, 2027, following events in Kuala Lumpur on Sept. 12 and 13, Taipei on Oct. 10 and 11, and Singapore on Nov. 7 and 8. Bangkok will conclude the series on Feb. 13 and 14.
"This celebration is a tribute to everyone who has journeyed with us over the decades," said Susumu Fukunaga, corporate officer of The Pokémon Company. "Whether you are a current Trainer or a longtime fan returning to the world of Pokémon, we invite you to join us for this milestone experience."
He added that the company also hopes the anniversary events will introduce Pokémon to a new generation of fans across Asia.
The company launched the Pokémon Asia 30th Anniversary website on June 3 as a hub for updates and information related to the celebrations. Available in multiple languages, the site also traces the history of the franchise, which began with the release of *Pokémon Red Version* and *Pokémon Green Version* in Japan in 1996.
Since then, Pokémon has evolved far beyond its origins as a Game Boy title. The franchise now spans animated series, films, mobile apps, merchandise, and one of the world's most popular trading card games.
Details about the Manila event and other activities are expected to be announced in phases in the months ahead.
