“In support of the Department of Education’s annual school opening program, EPD personnel will be strategically stationed across the cities of Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan,” EPD said.
Across the four cities, a total of 232 schools, consisting of 118 private and 114 public schools, are set to welcome students as classes officially resume for School Year 2026–2027.
According to the EPD, deployed personnel will be tasked with securing school premises, managing traffic, and providing immediate police assistance in and around educational institutions.
Brig. Gen. Melecio M. Buslig Jr., EPD officer-in-charge, said they remain committed to maintaining heightened police visibility and prompt response operations throughout the opening week of classes and the days that follow.
“Our goal is to ensure a safe, secure, and orderly return to school for all learners and stakeholders,” Buslig said.
The EPD said it is also working closely with local government units, barangay officials, and school administrators to strengthen security measures and ensure comprehensive coverage in all areas of concern.
In addition, police assistance desks will be established in strategic locations near schools to provide immediate support and address public concerns.
The public was also urged to stay alert and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through 911 for immediate police response.
