BACOLOD CITY – The sixth Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival (BCIF) with the theme Inasal City kicked off Friday in a popular mall here.
The festival, one of the biggest culinary events here, highlights the city’s world famous chicken inasal (grilled chicken) and rich cultural heritage.
Mayor Greg Gasataya, in his message, said that the festival is a way of showing appreciation and support to all Manokan Country vendors.
Bacolod Rep. and Deputy House Speaker Albee Benitez said the festival is more than a food celebration. “It is a proud showcase of our culture, our creativity, and the hardworking people behind every grill, every stall, and every serving of Bacolod’s world famous inasal.”
Mall operations manager George Jardiolin said this is a tribute to all hardworking grilled masters and Manokan stall owners as well as culinary artists and local entrepreneurs and communities that carried the legacy of chicken inasal.
Among the events in the three-day festival are the first-ever grand chicken inasal parade, a chicken inasal cook-off, a barangay street dance competition, and food tasting and beer pairing experience.
