The Civil Service Commission (CSC) lauded and recognized the local government of Marikina for its excellence in human resource management after achieving Maturity Level 2 in its Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM).
"This recognition by the Civil Service Commission is proof of our commitment towards professionalism and people-centered public service for every Marikina resident," Mayor Marjorie Ann "Maan" Teodoro said.
Teodoro, along with City Administrator Dr. Mark Castro and the Human Resource Management Department led by Dr. Eliza Cerveza, received the certificate of recognition from CSC Director Dick Echavez during the city's flag-raising ceremony on Monday, May 11.
Under PRIME-HRM, government agencies are empowered to continuously develop their human resource management competencies, systems, and practices to better serve all officials, rank-and-file employees, and other members of these government bodies.
The local government attained Maturity Level 2 in the four core HRM systems: Recruitment, Selection, and Placement (RSP), Performance Management (PM), Learning and Development (L&D), and Rewards and Recognition (R&R) under the PRIME-HRM.
"Ang pag-aalaga sa aming mga kawani ay pagbibigay halaga sa lahat ng mga taga-Marikina (Taking care of our employees means valuing all Marikina residents),” Teodoro said.
“By hiring competent and diligent people in the city hall, nurturing our personnel through regular feedback and training, providing assistance to meet their needs, and recognizing their efforts through awards and incentives, we empower them to strive for excellence in service to the people," she added.
The mayor also thanked the city government's Human Resources Department for their efforts in complying with PRIME-HRM and for their dedication to cultivating best practices in human resource management.
"We hope to continue creating a culture of care reflected within and outside of the city hall," she added.
