The Pasay City Traffic and Parking Management Office (TPMO) advised motorists to expect temporary road closures early Saturday morning, May 9, as traffic rerouting will be implemented for the staging of the “Popeye Fun Run 2026.”
According to TPMO head Ferdinand Lee, several major roads along the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Complex and Roxas Boulevard area will be closed from 2:30 a.m. until 7:00 a.m. to ensure the safety of runners and the smooth conduct of the fun run event.
Lee said the affected areas include Liwasang Ulalim at the CCP Complex, Sotto Street with zipper lanes on the PICC and Star City sides, Atang Dela Rama Street with a zipper lane, Jalandoni Street northbound, and Roxas Boulevard southbound from Quirino Avenue to the Parañaque City boundary.
He said the temporary closure is necessary to accommodate participants and manage crowd movement during the event.
Motorists heading toward Manila and Parañaque are encouraged to leave earlier than usual, take alternate routes, and expect possible traffic congestion on nearby roads during the activity.
Authorities also advised the public to cooperate with traffic personnel deployed in the area and follow directional signs to avoid inconvenience.
The roads are expected to reopen by 7:00 a.m. once the event concludes and clearing operations are completed.
