Shaping young artists: Pasig offers free art workshop
To nurture young artists in various fields, 284 young Pasigueños were selected for seven free courses under the city’s Summer Art Workshop, which opened on Monday, May 4.
The Pasig City Cultural Affairs (PCCA) and Tourism Office officially launched the workshop under the Pasig Creative Arts Academy.
The local government said that on its first implementation, the program offers seven free courses for participants aged 4 to 22. These include Basic Photography, Piano, Guitar, Ballet, Music Appreciation, Visual Arts, and Voice.
During the event, 12 instructors specializing in their respective disciplines were also introduced.
Vice Mayor Dodot Jaworski, serving as acting city mayor, attended the event and expressed support for the initiative, recognizing not only the participants and instructors but also the parents who continue to cultivate their children’s talents and passion for the arts.
“Bilang hudyat ng opisyal na pagsisimula ng workshop, pinatunog ang Bell of Creativity, na sumisimbolo sa paggising at pagpapasiklab ng diwa ng pagkamalikhain (To mark the official start of the workshop, organizers rang the Bell of Creativity, symbolizing the awakening and celebration of creativity among the youth),” the local government said.
A separate orientation for each discipline followed, along with a tour of the PCAA facilities led by local government officials and guests.

It also mentioned that after a series of lessons and practical exercises from May until the first week of June, the participants will hold a recital performance along with a photo and art exhibit on June 12, as the culminating activity of the Summer Art Workshop 2026.
