Daesung of BIGBANG reveals passport was stolen at Coachella
Daesung of BIGBANG opened up about an unfortunate incident that occurred during their recent appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2026.
In a recent episode of his YouTube variety talk show “ZipDaesung,” featuring Hyoyeon of Girls' Generation, the two discussed their journeys to becoming K-pop idols.
As the episode drew to a close, Daesung reflected on their comeback performance at Coachella alongside fellow BIGBANG members G-Dragon and Taeyang.
“It was our first time performing as a trio in a while, and I’m grateful that many people enjoyed it,” he said, as translated by South Korean media outlet Ten Asia.
Daesung also shared that fellow K-pop group Epik High—who previously performed at the festival in 2016—offered them advice ahead of their stage.
However, not everything went as planned. Daesung revealed that their team was robbed during their stay there, and that among the items stolen was his passport.
“And I didn’t know if this broadcast would happen or if it would be allowed. My manager’s hotel room was robbed— all the luggage was taken, including our passports,” Daesung said.
He added that he was able to re-enter using an emergency passport, noting that this was not his first time experiencing such an incident.
Despite the setback, he said he still enjoyed his time abroad, even watching baseball and soccer games in Los Angeles with G-Dragon.
BIGBANG’s Coachella performance was in celebration of the group’s 20th anniversary and marked their long-awaited return after their planned 2020 appearance was canceled due to COVID-19.
During their set at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the group performed some of their biggest hits, including “BANG BANG BANG,” “Fantastic Baby,” “Sober,” and “Good Boy,” among others.
