P25-M smuggled cigarettes recovered in Himamaylan City

BACOLOD CITY – The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region recovered smuggled cigarettes valued at P25 million in Barangay To-oy, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental on Monday, April 13.
A suspected smuggler, Geo, 43, of Barangay Masulog, Canlaon City, Negros Oriental, was arrested.
Police received information and discovered the suspect unloading cigarettes from a 10-wheel wing van.
Confiscated were 500 master cases of cigarettes with unauthorized tax seals and without required graphic health warning labels.
Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR director, commended operating units for achievement.
