Farmer shot dead for stealing construction materials

TAGKAWAYAN, Quezon – A 35-year-old farmer was killed for allegedly stealing construction materials in a supermarket construction site in Barangay Santa Cecilia here on Saturday night, April 11.

Police identified the victim as Vic.

Investigation said the suspect, security guard Raul, chased and shot the victim who died on the spot. The suspect fled.

In Lopez, Quezon, a man and a woman were gunned down by two men onboard a motorcycle while seated on a concrete barrier on the Diversion Road in Barangay Danlagan on Friday morning, April 10.

Police identified the male victim as Jose, a resident of Bucandala Ill, Imus City, Cavite. The female victim was unidentified.

The victims died on the spot. The suspects fled towards Calauag, Quezon.

Meanwhile, a 69-year-old maritime school instructor drowned after suffering a heart attack while swimming in the sea of Barangay Luyahan, Lian, Batangas on Saturday afternoon.

The victim was identified as Romualdo of Tondo, Manila.

He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

In Santa Rosa City, Laguna, a businessman and his two companions were robbed by four individuals who barged inside their home in Barangay Caingin after midnight Sunday, April 12.

Taken away by the suspects were three iPhones, four wristwatches, pieces of jewelry, and two land titles.

The homeowners’ association informed the police about the incident.

Police are conducting follow-up and manhunt operations against the suspects who face appropriate cases.
