A total of 119 individuals were apprehended for violations of city ordinances, while 26 others were arrested for various criminal offenses during a district-wide synchronized “Oplan Bulabog” carried out the Pasay City Police.
Pasay City Police chief Col. Joselito De Sesto said the operation was conducted from 8:00 p.m. on April 7 until 1:00 a.m. on April 8 along Tramo Street, in line with the directive of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to strengthen the “Safer Metro Manila” campaign.
De Sesto said the 119 individuals were cited for various offenses, including curfew violations involving minors, drinking in public places, smoking in prohibited areas, use of videoke or karaoke beyond 10:00 p.m., and public nudity or roaming half-naked in public areas.
Out of the total number of ordinance violators, 31 were apprehended for smoking in prohibited areas, 13 for drinking in public places, 31 for public nudity, and 41 minors for curfew violations. Authorities also cited one individual for illegal vending and three others for operating an illegal terminal.
Meanwhile, 26 individuals were nabbed for violations of national laws. Of these, 16 were charged under Presidential Decree 1602 for illegal gambling, six for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and four were served warrants of arrest for various offenses.
Police said the operation forms part of intensified law enforcement efforts to maintain peace and order in the city, particularly during nighttime hours when incidents of public disturbance and crime are more likely to occur.
De Sesto assured the public that similar operations will continue as part of the city police’s commitment to uphold safety and discipline in communities.
