P1,000 fuel aid set for registered tricycle drivers in Albay town
SALCEDA (Mayor Jesciel Salceda FB)
LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – The local government of Polangui has announced the distribution of a P1,000 fuel subsidy for registered Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations (TODA) to ease the impact of rising fuel prices.
Mayor Jesciel Richard G. Salceda issued Executive Order No. 32 on Sunday, April 5, for the program that aims to provide immediate financial relief to tricycle drivers who have been significantly affected by the increasing cost of fuel.
“This initiative aims to extend immediate assistance to our tricycle drivers who are significantly affected by rising fuel costs, ensuring the continuity of essential transportation services in our communities,” the mayor said.
Under the program, qualified beneficiaries will receive fuel subsidy vouchers worth P1,000, subject to proper validation and compliance with the guidelines to be set by the local government.
Salceda has directed the Municipal Treasurer’s Office, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), and the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) to formulate the implementing guidelines for the program.
Polangui has at least 1,500 registered TODA members.
Funding for the subsidy will be sourced from available municipal funds in accordance with existing accounting, budgeting, and auditing laws, rules, and regulations.
The program underscores the local government’s commitment to support the transport sector and promote the welfare of constituents amid ongoing economic challenges.
