PHINMA Education Holdings Inc., a subsidiary of Del Rosario-led PHINMA Corp., is expanding its presence in the southern part of Metro Manila as well as parts of Laguna and Cavite by acquiring a controlling 84.91-percent stake in Southeastern College Inc. for ₱690 million.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) on Monday, March 16, PHINMA said it bought 64,834 shares of Southeastern College from existing shareholders as well as through the subscription to additional shares of stock of the school to acquire its land and buildings.

It added that under the share and asset purchase agreement executed by the parties, the transaction was completed on March 13, 2026, following confirmation that all deliverables required for closing had been satisfied and that payment of the total consideration had been made.

The purchase price takes into account various factors such as the number of enrollees, brand value, and the appraised value of properties registered under the name of the school and its owners.

“As demand for accessible college education continues to grow in Metro Manila, PHINMA Education is expanding its reach in Pasay City through the acquisition of Southeastern College, bringing the institution into its fast-growing network of schools dedicated to helping more Filipinos earn a college degree,” the firm said.

Southeastern College was established in 1946 and is located in Pasay. The institution currently offers undergraduate programs in education, computer science, and business administration, as well as basic education programs up to senior high school (SHS).

PHINMA Education Philippines Country Head Happy Tan noted that, “With every school we bring into our network, our focus is helping more Filipino students complete their education and move forward with better opportunities.”

“Many of our students are the first in their families to go to college. We want them to know that college is possible—and once they begin their journey, we are committed to walking with them every step of the way,” she added.

Southeastern College becomes PHINMA Education’s 12th institution in the Philippines and 14th across its regional network, further strengthening its position as the largest private higher education network in Southeast Asia in terms of enrollment.

The Pasay campus will become part of the PHINMA Saint Jude College network in the National Capital Region (NCR), joining campuses in Manila and Quezon City.

This expansion will strengthen PHINMA Education’s ability to serve about 80,000 students in southern Metro Manila and parts of Laguna and Cavite.

As part of the network, Southeastern College will adopt PHINMA Education’s approach to student success—combining effective teaching, career-relevant programs, and dedicated academic and personal coaching that helps students stay in school, complete their degrees, and graduate ready for meaningful careers.

“We are in the business of reducing poverty through education. So, we build schools where students are empowered to persist, those who’ve dropped out are welcomed back, and every student has the opportunity to complete their education at their own pace and on their own terms. No one is left behind,” Tan said.

PHINMA Education is the largest network of colleges and universities in Southeast Asia in terms of enrollment, serving 178,000 students across the Philippines and Indonesia.
