Warm weather, localized thunderstorms to prevail until early March — PAGASA
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Friday, Feb. 27 said generally fair weather will prevail across most parts of the country over the coming week, with isolated rain showers expected due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
In its weekly weather outlook from Feb. 27 to March 6, PAGASA said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers on Friday as easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, continue to affect the country.
From Saturday to Sunday, Feb. 28 to March 1, the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Batanes.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will continue to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies.
Similar weather conditions are expected from Monday to Tuesday, March 2 to 3, with easterlies remaining the prevailing weather system across the archipelago.
PAGASA said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will persist.
By Wednesday to Friday, March 4 to 6, the amihan will again affect Batanes and the Babuyan Islands, bringing isolated light rains over these areas.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will remain partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers due to the easterlies.
PAGASA advised the public to stay alert for possible thunderstorms, which may bring brief heavy rains, lightning, and gusty winds, especially in the afternoon or evening.
