Man nabbed for illegal possession of firearm in Muntinlupa

Muntinlupa City police arrested a 33-year-old man for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition on Feb. 25.

Operatives from the Muntinlupa police's Alabang Sub-station nabbed alias Kim, a resident of Barangay Bayanan, during an anti-criminality operation at about 4:50 p.m. on San Guillermo Street in Barangay Bayanan.

He was arrested after the police received information that he was armed and causing fear and alarm among residents in the area.

Police confiscated from him a .38-caliber pistol and two pieces of live ammunition.

The arrested suspect and the confiscated firearm and ammunition were brought to the Muntinlupa Police Station Investigation and Detective Management Section for documentation.

He will face a complaint for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
