Gary V reflects on unshaken faith, Alvin Aragon backlash
There's no doubt that Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano is guided by a deep and unwavering faith. He also reflected on moments when he faced criticism for sharing the gospel, yet his positivity and purpose remained unshaken.
"There have been people saying maybe you don't have to talk about the gospel anymore. I don't come up on stage to preach. I just came on stage and shared. Why? Because a lot of the body had gone through, and whatever I've read in the gospel, and whatever promises have been given to me, have been proven," said Gary during the media conference for his upcoming podcast series titled "Unshaken," which will debut in April.

Gary V added, "Even just by being here, I have to go back to the hospital and do some tests. But I am here. I am happy that I am. I have been bashed even if I don't say anything about the gospel. I am bashed. I don't think I can please everybody."
The 61-year-old singer graciously responded when asked about the ongoing discussion involving Alvin Aragon, husband of former SexBomb Girls member Izzy Trazona, who has also spoken passionately about the gospel.
"I don't know what kind of walk Alvin has had with the Lord that he talks about. But I know he's talking about the same God I am. We both quote from the same Bible. I don't know, but I will let people know that if or when you pray about something, and if God speaks to you through this, and it's totally opposite from what you would have thought he would call you to do, my challenge is, who will you follow? Will you follow your conscience or will you follow the voice that you heard, even if it would cost so much, including being bashed by so many people?" Gary said.
Gary warmly shared that he, too, once stood where Alvin is now, acknowledging that growth in faith is a journey that unfolds with time and understanding.
"As to how you carry things out, that's something you learn over time. I was once a Christian honeymooning with the Lord when I first came to know Him, and I was like that. I would tell them, 'You will go to hell! This is what's going to happen to you.' But it took me time to learn that the truth, even if it hurts, you don't have to hurt more, because it hurts enough already.
"It's just a matter of time before people begin to settle, the dust settles, and they can see each other's reasoning more clearly. But I know it's been moving a lot of people. The best thing about it is that people are opening up about their faith even if they are offended. But they are speaking about faith. So I don't know how God is orchestrating everything. I think He's watching," said Gary V.
The OPM icon emphasized that he has no desire to judge Alvin, recognizing that everyone is on their own path of growth and learning.
"I would like to hear him first before I say anything because there are so many things that can come out. Maybe not in its entirety. And when you leave certain things, those are the things that might really matter.
"I am not one who will judge him. He is imperfect as I am. But I am thankful he's keeping himself grounded in what he believes in. Maybe someday, if we do talk, I'd like to find out. 'Dude, what's going on? Tara! Share tayo! Tayo tayo lang! Walang makaka-alam nito," he said.
When asked if he would invite Alvin to his podcast, Gary V answered, "With him, I don't know if I will have him on 'Unshaken.' Why? Because people will watch out and see what kind of clash it is. And 'Unshaken' is not about that. Now, when this season in his life is done, this could be the shaking moment in his life. Then I would like to ask him about it."
