The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Thursday, Feb. 19, assured the public that operations at Puerto Princesa International Airport remain normal and uninterrupted following the killing of its manager.
Joanna Jonson-Infante, acting manager of the airport, was shot dead by an unidentified assailant last Wednesday.
CAAP Director General Raul Del Rosario visited the airport to personally check on the situation and assured the public that flight schedules, safety procedures, and essential airport services continue without disruption.
Del Rosario also extended the agency’s condolences to the bereaved family of the victim.
He said CAAP management will closely monitor developments in the case.
“Ibibigay ng CAAP ang suportang kailangan ng pamilya. Makikipagtulungan tayo sa mga kinauukulan para maresolba ang kaso at mabigyan ng hustisya ang ating kasama sa CAAP (CAAP will provide the support needed by the family. We will coordinate with the concerned authorities to resolve the case and ensure that justice is served for our colleague in CAAP),” Del Rosario said.
CAAP emphasized that the circumstances surrounding the death of Jonson-Infante remain under investigation.
The agency urged the public to refrain from making assumptions or spreading unverified claims related to the incident.
