The Philippine National Police has temporarily relieved personnel assigned to the J. Bocobo Police Community Precinct following a viral video involving a marked patrol vehicle, as authorities conduct an administrative investigation into the incident.
The J. Bocobo Police Community Precinct, located in Ermita, is under the supervision of the Manila Police District.
In a press statement, the Ermita Police Station (PS-5) confirmed that it is aware of the circulating video on social media showing a police mobile patrol unit under its jurisdiction.
Station officials said they immediately directed the concerned personnel to submit written explanations and initiated an administrative review to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“The Philippine National Police does not tolerate any violation of laws, policies, or established operational procedures,” the station said, adding that appropriate administrative action will be taken should any infraction be established after due investigation.
The personnel involved have already undergone an initial evaluation and have been temporarily relieved of their posts pending the outcome of the probe.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing, with all facts being carefully assessed, including statements from the involved personnel and other available evidence.
The police assured the public of its commitment to due process, emphasizing that conclusions will be based on verified facts and established procedures.
“We assure the public that transparency, accountability, and professionalism remain our guiding principles in addressing this matter,” the station said.
