2 weather systems prevail over Philippines — PAGASA

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration on Wednesday, Feb. 11 said two weather systems are prevailing over the country, with the northeast monsoon affecting Luzon and the easterlies influencing the rest of the country.
PAGASA weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said there is still no tropical cyclone or low-pressure area being monitored inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Over the next 24 hours, Dominguez said the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” is expected to bring cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rains over Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte.
A surge of the amihan is also expected, she added.
Metro Manila, Visayas, and the rest of Luzon may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the amihan.
Meanwhile, the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, are affecting Mindanao.
Caraga and the Davao Region may have cloudy skies with scattered moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms.
The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms because of the easterlies.
