CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – An overstaying British national was arrested by the Philippine National Police and Bureau of Immigration on Monday, Feb. 16, in Romblon.
Police Brig. Gen. Jovencio S. Badua Jr., Police Regional Office 4-B chief, identified the arrested foreigner as Andrew Charles Beaumont, 48, of Hull, Yorkshire, England.
Badua said Beaumont was apprehended after the Bureau of Immigration declared him as an overstaying alien with records that his last authorized extension of stay expired on Nov. 17, 2023.
Beaumont was arrested in Sitio Cabalian, Barangay Agmanic, Santa Fe, at 4:30 p.m. which is near his temporary residence in Barangay Agpudlos.
“This successful operation reflects what we can achieve through discipline policing and strong inter-agency coordination. I commend and thank our partner units and the Bureau of Immigration for the swift collaboration that ensured a lawful arrest and upheld the rule of law,” Badua said in a statement.
Beaumont is in police custody for docunentation and proper disposition before turnover to the Bureau of Immigration.
