BAGUIO CITY – About 100 indigent families here were recipients of the annual gift-giving activity on Feb. 13 of a Filipino-Chinese group in line with the Chinese Lunar New Year or Spring Festival 2026.
Peter Ng, head of the executive committee, with City Social Welfare and Development Officer Liza Bulayungan, distributed these and ‘’tikoy’’or sweet cakes to beneficiaries in Barangays Lower Quirino Hill, Middle Quirino Hill, East Quirino Hill, and West Quirino Hill.
"This program is a tradition that we have been doing, so it is now part of the annual Spring Festival celebration, which is now in its 28th year. We wish for good relations and we are ready to help for the development of our city,” Ng said.
Bulayungan thanked the Chinese community for assisting small communities and the city’s development programs.
A grand colorful parade will be held on Feb. 18, along with a Little Chinatown display from Feb. 15 to 22, in line with the occasion.
