Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez highlighted significant improvements in the city’s healthcare system during his State of the City Address.
The mayor reported a 98 percent overall immunization rate since the pandemic, with childhood immunization coverage reaching 99 percent as of January 2026—the highest among Metro Manila cities.
Olivarez credited the achievement to the strong collaboration among barangay health centers, Ospital ng Parañaque 1 and 2, private hospitals, and community health workers, ensuring accessible and continuous healthcare services for residents.
He also reaffirmed the city government’s commitment to strengthening its 16 fully accredited health centers to keep quality healthcare within reach of every Parañaqueño.
The city likewise recognized the vital role of barangay health workers as frontliners in community healthcare delivery.
To acknowledge their dedication, the city announced an increase in their monthly allowance from ₱6,000 to ₱8,000 starting this year.
